If she has been adequately treated for it, then there will no longer be identifiable bacteria in her lungs. So she would certainly feel better than when the disease is first diagnosed, and be less likely to spread it

In 1982 in the United Kingdom, were new borns given vaccinations for TB (tuberculosis) ?
I have tested positive for a TB-skin test, however my chest x-ray was clean. This could mean that I have latent TB, but it could also be a reaction due to me potentially being vaccinated against TB when born in London, England in 1982. Your help with this question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and wishing you all the best of health.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a very nasty disease. It can affect everything and anything in the body. TB likes Lungs, Brain, Bones, Breasts, to name a few besides being very contagious. It destroys the tissues (creating lesions) and make them into "pools or pockets" of pus and thus, it creates "craters" afterward

You can get all of those anywhere but you should have been vaccinated as a child for sars...
2 :
The 1st person is an idiot. Citizens in the U.S. were not vaccinated against SARS and its not in the U.S. now There is no ebola in the U.S....THANK GOD. tuberculosis...Yes, you can get that in the U.S. but its unlikely unless you have some sort of immune deficiency.
3 :
There is tuberculosis in the USA, yes even in the state of Oklahoma. Sars can be brought there as in happened in Vancouver, Canada several years back. Ebola could also be brought in though most unlikely

have your parents or doctor explain it to you

Here's a link you may find helpful. Just run a search for TB and you'll find tons and tons of info. There's no need to stay in the dark. And a lot of things depend on if your TB is active or latent so look up both. http://www.lungusa.org/site/c.dvLUK9O0E/b.4293531

Tuberculosis is caused by a bacteria called mycobacterium tuberculosis, this is the most common. It is spread through airborne droplets and through saliva. So a person with tuberculosis can spread the disease just by being near to someone who is not infected. I suggest that you isolate yourself for the mean time until the doctor said that your disease is already non contagious. Im sorry but you also have to avoid kissing your boyfriend for a while until your cured. Most people who are living in confined places are also prone to tuberculosis because the disease can easily spread. But if your doctor have already given you the medications needed, mostly people who take it after 2 weeks is non contagious already but you still have to confirm it to the doctor. The medication of tuberculosis is about 6 to 12 months and after that a sputum exam will be conducted to find out if some trace of the bacteria is still there. Don't worry about your condition because your disease is curable if you take the medication frequently without stopping. People who are ignorant of taking the medications often lead them to secondary tuberculosis which is far more dangerous.
5 :
It is a lung disease. Talk with your parents and your doctor. No doctor should ever give a diagnosis without explaining it to you in a way that you can understand.
6 :
Please go to the CDC website an look at information on TB. Fortunately, most people become carriers and your body will form a tubercule in your lungs to contain it. People live very normal productive lives with TB. There are also antibiotics that can treat the bacterium and many people also recover

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT WITH YOUR PHARMACIST THATS WHAT THEY'RE THERE FOR
2 :
well, if you are using the computer, im guessing that you are not on a mechanical ventilator (the big machine that breathes for patients). when it comes to pneumonia -- think infection in the lungs -- it's either bacterial or viral. i think the risk of a diabetic person to get pneumonia is if he were intubated and mechanicall ventilated. to prevent pneumonia and lungs from collapsing, take deep breaths once in a while. ask for an incentive spirometer to help you achieve a goal in how deep you should breathe in. your doctor can give this to you and teach you how to use it -- this is only to help prevent pneumonia. about the vaccine -- for a diabetic person, im alway cautious with the medicines that he/she is taking. sometimes the medications for diabetes, it is very hard to add other medications along with it because of its potency. to be sure, ask your doctor first. i wouldn't mix medications if i were you

yes you can; it's better to see the doctor!
2 :
Yes, you can get it.

Of course, Tuberculosis is a very contagious disease. when i was younger, i lived with my Aunt who has a tuberculosis, after a year, i was discovered with primary complex, which is a mild tuberculosis. to avoid this things, you should separate this person in another room, and every day clean and spray it with anti bacterial sprays. because it will harm your family, or children, especially those who are low in immunity.,hope this help. thanks and God bless.
4 :
YES, if your mother has active TB and is being treated with medication, you need to be checked out and likely receive prophylactic (preventive) treatment. Go see your doctor.
5 :
Yes, you can all get it. Go to a doctor and get tested for TB. God bless your family and I hope your mother feels better soon.
6 :
It depends on if it is active or latent. Unless they are sure where she picked it up, the doctor should have tested everybody in the household. If she was diagnosed with active TB, she would be contagious. I would hope that is not the case because she would have been kept away from other people until shown not to be contagious. Probably she has latent TB which is not contagious. She should clarify this with her doctor and get the rest of the household tested if there is any question where she got infected
