Does tuberculosis ever go away

Does tuberculosis ever go away?
Well I was diagnosed and treated for Tuberculosis about 8-9 years ago ( when I was in the 5th grade). The doctor took me off the medication about 5-9 months after I got TB. After you get treated for tuberculosis do you still have it? And what are the after affects of it?

Yes. Tuberculosis is caused by a bacteria. Antibiotics kill the bacteria and you get healed. Only things that can not be killed are viruses which either go away by themselves or continue to stay there for a life time.

yes it can be cured completely . if u were given drugs for its whole course of 5-9 months. mycobacterium tuberculosis causes chronic inflammtion of the tissue making tuberculoma,by affecting body defense system... once u started treating it,the bacteria disappear from ur body withing two months, but u still need to carry on with ur medication,as if u left with medication in middle ,there may b chance of resistancy against the drugs.. so be regular in taking its drugs.sometime re infection occurs ,but that can b treated easily as before.. all the best
