what happens after someone is taken off thier Tuberculosis meds

what happens after someone is taken off thier Tuberculosis meds.....?
This person has been on for a year, once they come off it will there be any strange side affects? Does your body need time to get used to not taking it anymore? Anything he should know?

It depends... If someone comes off of their TB medications and they have not completed the full course of medication, they will likely have an eventual return of symptoms of TB... Cough, fevers, nightsweats, etc. However, simply completing the TB course should cause no symptoms. The patients urine will turn back to yellow (from the orange caused by rifampin), otherwise - nothing.

Hi. There are no withdrawal symptoms from TB medications if that is what you are asking. The best thing to do though is to avoid alcohol for a couple of months atleast after the medication. This is to help relieve the liver because the TB meds put a lot of stress on it
