no TB is not that severe .Ya ,but one thing to be remember is that in some extreme cases the ability of the lung can drastically reduce. but the probability of that one is low... So. dont worry

Active TB can lead to necrosis (cell death) in the lungs and forms cavities within the lung. Lung tissue is completely destroyed within the cavities. So yes, you can lose part of your lung with TB. Also note that TB used to be treated surgically in the past with resection of the affected parts of the lungs, but is now treated with antibiotics, and surgical resection is required only in extreme cases
