it's quite simple really, resistance is developing because the treatment for TB is a SIX MONTH long course of medication, a great many people do not follow thru and complete the course, thus, resistance is developed in the TB bacillus.

Bacteria, like the acid-fast bacillus that causes TB, because of the fact that they propagate so profusely, in such numbers, that mutations take much less time to become the norm. In the case of pathogens, if just one escapes because it became resistant to antibiotics, it can multiply rapidly and take the place of the dead bacteria. This is an ongoing problem in Medicine, keeping ahead of the bacteria. One major problem is patients who do not finish the whole course of antibiotics giving them a chance to recover. Kinda like a boxer that landed a stunning blow to his opponent, and then backs off giving his opponent a chance to clear his head and come back
