could you get hepatitis from tuberculosis medicine


could you get hepatitis from tuberculosis medicine?
i had to take tb medicine for 9 months than all of a sudden doctors took me off it saying i have high levels of certain chemicals in my blood. next thing i know i have a stomach problem so i go for blood tests. now about a week later i find out that i might have hepatitis. i don't do drugs and i'm a virgin, so no sexual contact. i mean i'm only 16 and my summer is ruined, what should i do?

Some medicines can cause liver damage and inflammation. Hepatitis in this case simply means liver inflammation. What you are talking about is hepatitis B and possibly C. These are viral diseases which as you have suggested are transmitted sexually or by doing drugs with dirty/shared needles. Now that the doctors have stopped that offending medicine, you liver should recover and you should feel better soon. So your life is not ruined, and if further treatment is still needed for the tuberculosis, the doctors will find for you an alternative medicine which is a bit easier on the liver.
