i don't know but i do have TB. it can be very contagious but mine like alot of peoples is dorminte. meaning that i have it but am not a carryer so it cannot be spread. unless i were to become very ill then it could become active.

I don't know either, but to the person above..you ARE a carrier. It is dormant, but you will always have it and your PPD test will always come back positive unless you've had treatment. It is transmitted from person to person by air droplets, meaning if someone sneezes or coughs and you breathe in their air drop, you could possibly contract it. Even idiots who spit on sidewalks can transmit it that way. I am sure there probably is only a guestimate out there on how many people contract it. Most people are like the person above and are only carrying the disease without any symptoms and many probably do not know they have it, unless they are in the medical profession or another career that requires them to get a PPD test every year (simple skin test that reacts if there is a presence of TB)
