Hi there. Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection. It is transported through close contact with people. So sneezing, coughing, spitting etc will give you the bacterium. Lots of times when it taken in by people, white blood cells will destroy the cell because an immune response is triggered. It most likely attacks the lungs in the body. The bacteria infects your sputum (spit) and turns it bloody. This is because the lung tissue is damaged. If the TB then spreads to other organs such as heart, liver, bones etc. The tissue can get damaged causing organ failure. This is normally how it kills but often it is spotted by the coughing up of blood. Hope i helped

As a pediatrician I saw several children die of TB meningitis. Only one was in the USA, the others were in Haiti. Those victims were chronically ill and malnourished as well. Children can die from TB pneumonia, or from generalized TB sepsis, or destruction of the lungs via miliary TB. In the latter, sepsis and asphyxiation can go side by side
