will the "SCAR" from his primary infection disapper upon completion of medication or will it stay visible everytime an x-ray is taken even though my cousin is cured from his 9 months regimen (medication).

well if tuberculosis had spread to your chest and lungs, that's not good. Medication is highly effective when TB has not spread to the chest cavity. I'm not sure what happens once your chest is affected. Be sure to take you medication REGULARLY though. Stopping for a few days and then taking medication again is very dangerous because it can create resistance in the bacteria that causes TB and once resistant bacteria is created, it is extremely difficult to find a cure. It's either you eliminate ALL the bacteria in one shot or you don't. So take you medication the way your doctor instructed you to do so.

There is always gonna be a scar, the doctor who reads the x-ray will be able to see if there is something active or not. Plus, skin tests will now always be positive, so he'll be getting chest x-rays whenever a tb test is neccesary

I heard it was supposed to take a year of meds to get rid of it. If not taken as directed, you will just make it a stronger because it wasn't completely killed. The scarring on the lungs will probably always be there , he should have asked his Dr, that question
