Only if they have a pre-existant illness like heart/lung problems etc.

As someone that must undergo TB testing annually - its not likely that a treated person die of TB when caught early. Early being 6-12 months of infection. There are people with latent TB (not sick but has the germs in their body) and those with active TB. The latent patients must take a drug that will hinder the infection for taking place, while the active TB patient must take and finish their year's dose, otherwise the TB is likely to mutate, spread and become resistant to the antibiotics. This fact sheet tells your exactly how many people died: http://www.cdc.gov/tb/publications/factsheets/statistics/TBTrends.htm Treatment helps and there are few that die result of a early treatment.

if the treatment start early don't think so,but only if the person has other diseases , we have to think of side effects of the drugs used in treatment as if the patient has liver problems
