I know TB can be transmitted through the air so I would imagine it could be easily transmitted through saliva.

i'm not sure. ask your doctor. but i will tell you this. i was a nurses aid, and was exposed to it just by being in same room. I believe that virus is airbourne as well good luck. just because you are exposed doesn't mean you are going to get full blown case. you would just be exposed to it.

TB is transmitted through the air, only when it's active. Once a person has TB, they will have it forever, but it can only be transmitted when it's active. At this point, the person should be hospitalized and put into a negative airflow room. Visitors should wear protective gear, like masks upon entering. If TB is inactive, then it lies dorment in the body and cannot be transmitted to another person at all. How do you know if it's active? First sign, coughing, a lot of coughing, then coughing up blood.

YES! Period...YES. Anyone with weakened immune system is at risk. TB is, again, a growing problem in the US.
